TI The occurence of scrapie disease in a sheep of the remote Himalayan foothills

AB Scrapie has been diagnosed both clinically and pathologically in mountain sheep of the Kumaon foothills of the Himalayas. The disease has been known in the area for less than 20 years. The incidence of scrapie varies in different flocks from 1-10 per cent. The clinical symptoms and the histopathological changes in the brain stem and the cerebellum have been found to be identical with those observed in scrapie sheep in this country.
