AB Amico Bignami, neuropathologist and neuroscientist, professor of Neuropathology at Harvard Medical School, died on August 5, 1994. He is best known for his pioneering work on spongiform encephalopathies and intermediate filaments, in particular glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP).
