AB Research into transport vehicles for broilers has shown that almost half of the birds that arrive dead at the processing plant die of congestive heart failure, related to poor ventilation in the transport vehicle. Some years ago researchers at the Silsoe Research Institute in the UK investigated the air flow in broiler lorries and found that the air flows from the rear to the front of the vehicles.
