PT Review

AB In addition to diffuse haemorrhage which is inevitable, petechial haemorrhage occurs in pork. Petechial haemorrhage may be due to various causes and is observed after every form of stunning. The incidence of petechial haemorrhage is reduced by the short-interval-method. The concentration of catecholamines in the blood and the possible effect of these compounds on the appearance of petechial haemorrhage are reviewed. The degree and rate of exsanguination in various methods of stunning are discussed as well.
