AB The effectiveness of electrical and carbondioxide stunning methods of pigs for slaughter will be discussed referring the executed investigations and publications. Secondly the cause of the various opinions about the effectiveness of both stunning methods in some countries will be discussed. Finally the question about the introduction or implimentation of results of stunning research in national or European legislation will be discussed.
