TI The concentration of glucose in blood plasma of pigs, in relation to collection methods and to other experimental factors

AB Both transportation and electrical stunning increased significantly the level of blood-glucose in pigs. The venous blood collected with a syringe from the ear vein contained more glucose than when it was drawn of from the cannulated jugular vein. A highly significant correlation was found between glucose and bicarbonate concentration in the blood.
