The Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut confirmed BSE in a cow that had suddenly died without having shown apparent BSE-symptoms. According to information forwarded by the BMELV the bovine had been born on the farm.

The Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut confirmed BSE in a dairy cow. The cow had already calved 5 times, was slaughtered as healthy and - according to information forwarded by the BMELV had been born on the farm. Probably due to the slaughter having taken place in the respective federal state the BSE screening test was carried out in the Food and Veterinary Investigation Office of Schleswig-Holstein.

The Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut confirmed BSE in a dairy cow that had died following calving without having shown any BSE-specific symptoms. According to information forwarded by the BMELV the cow had been born in Sachsen.

* The age is calculated upgraded or downgraded to the full month by using the date of confirmation of the disease as the date of death is often not wanted to be made public by some Federal Laender allegedly for reasons of data protection.

Descriptions of various breeds of cattle like Fleckvieh (German Simmental), Braunvieh (German Braunvieh) und Schwarzbunte (Black Pied) may be found with the Agrar Information Service (AID).
